Sharon Kay Johnson-Carpenter, age 76, passed away on 5/30/2019.
Sharon’s hobbies included quilting, reading, sewing and antiques. She also loved animals and was an advocate for the Humane Society. She cherished her cats. She also loved her beloved doll collection, which she had been collecting for 60 years. She enjoyed attending auctions, visiting flea markets and collecting rare items. In her younger years, Sharon was very involved in tennis, softball and volleyball. She also liked to travel. Her favorite memory was living on the lake in Florida with a pool.
Sharon attended Western Michigan University, later attending school in Tacoma, WA and receiving a secretarial degree. She also earned her associate degree in Dental Hygiene.
Survived by her sister, Sondra Joyce; children, Kevin Longton (Carol), Stacy Schultz (Jim), and Brad Longton; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Charles Carpenter; her mother, Edith Mae Johnson; her father, Waldo Herbert Johnson; her sister Barbara Johnson; and her three brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Lloyd Johnson & Harry Sever.
