Mary Blauert (Beidenstein)
Mary Diane Blauert (Breidenstein) passed away on October 23, 2017 at the age of 53 after an unwavering and courageous battle with Leiomyosarcoma. Born in Champaign, IL, Mary was raised in Sudbury and Framingham, MA, and moved to Minneapolis to attend college in 1982. She and her family have made their home in Eden Prairie for the last 25 years. She enjoyed a successful career in retail merchandising at Dayton’s, Grand Casinos/Lakes Entertainment and Buyers Support Group, and she brought a passion for giving back to others that spanned a lifetime. She worked with the United Way and was an active volunteer at church, in Eden Prairie schools and throughout the community.
Mary’s lifelong gift was her ability to make everyone feel special and connected. She was always the first to seek out the new parents on the kids’ sports teams, welcome new people to the neighborhood and embrace new members at church. She had an uncanny ability to remember birthdates, childrens’ names and all the little things that made other people feel important, and her warm, genuine, optimistic nature and radiant smile will be dearly missed by her friends and family. She truly made the world around her a happier place.
Mary is survived by her husband Joe, her children Michael and Mackenzie, her sisters Cheryl Kaschke, Denise Suennen and Beth Erickson, her brother Brent Breidenstein, and an abundance of nieces, nephews and in-laws who claim her as their own. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8pm October 27th at the Huber Funeral Home chapel (16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie), and the funeral is scheduled for 11:00am October 28th at Immanuel Lutheran Church (16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie) with a visitation beginning at 10am. It was Mary’s wish that a memorial to Immanuel Lutheran Church (www.Immanuel.us) or the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation (www.nlmsf.org) be given in lieu of flowers.
